Auckland National Tournament Teams
Auckland Hockey will be sending a Men’s and Women’s team to the HNZ National Tournament to be held in Hamilton 9 - 14 October. The teams will be a High Performance Development vehicle team, and as such the Hockey Department will control all aspects of the teams, with our focus clearly on developing our NHL lists and our priority junior athletes.
Coaches:
The coaches for these teams will be confirmed shortly. They will be supported by the Hockey Department, Hemant Lala for the Men and Jason Butcher for the Women.
Selection:
Selection of the team based on the following criteria:
- Fury Development Squad
- NHL 2010/11
- Targeted U21 players
- Targeted IASP members
- Hockey Department TID athletes
Selections to be finalised by 8 September.
Players will be contacted directly by the Hockey Department.
In addition, players not identified in the above criteria, should contact their club.
Players not named in teams on 8 September may request to be released as Guest players or Region of Origin players.
Preparation:
6 sessions - 1 in each of the weeks of the 12 & 19 September and 2 in each of the weeks of the 26 September and 3 October

U21, U18, U15 Trials are held at Lloyd Elsmore Hockey Stadium, Cnr Lady Marie Drive and Bell Rd Pakuranga.
Auckland Hockeys Selection Policy is that a seletion panel of three will be involved in the selection process,
of each age group, to allow for a fair and unbiased selection process.
Auckland Hockey will be selecting an "A" team, "B" team and "Development" team at U18.
Auckland Hockey will be selecting an "A" team and "Development" team at U15 and Hatch/Collier age group
