The TAP has been developed to allow flexibility for the Hockey Department to address problem areas and age group players. It is a specialist skills development program that will be designed on an annual basis against the previous years review and continually added to during the year. It will be camp based, session based and training block based depending on training window opportunities available against the targeted age group and targeted development area.

The focus of this program is to address targeted areas of deficiency or priority proficiency. In many respects it replaces the previous Academy program of the last couple of years.

Individual Athlete Support Programme - IASP

The Auckland Hockey Association (AHA) has recently begun the first and most powerful of many new initiatives that are planned for implementation leading into 2011, aimed at improving the High Performance standards of Auckland Hockey.

The Individual Athlete Support Program is a program lead by AHA’s two new Australian High Performance Coaches, Technical Director and ex Hockeyroos Assistant Coach Jason Butcher and Elite Development Coach Colin Stewart who was recently a specialist Coach for the Irish women’s team.

The program includes athletes of the caliber of young Blacksticks Marcus Child and Arun Panchia and rising stars Julia King and Danielle Jones.
